FS: 3 Low D's - Dixon Duo / Calemont / Susato Sold

While in the first stages of my “Whistle Journey” I over sampled in the Low D category trying to find something I could play well. I recently acquired a Kerry Low with the plastic head which I am getting along well with. Once I figure how to consistently stretch my finger for the bell note - I’ll be just fine. But - it is a real reach for me!
This leaves me with three other Low D’s all acquired since the first of this year. I just don’t play them much and they need to move on to make room for other whistles that I can use more regularly. I’ve thought someone on the board may get better use before I list them on e-bay. I’ve listed below why I don’t need to keep them. I don’t want to dissuade you, but be brutally honest of why I did not play them well. You decide before I e-bay them.

  1. Dixon Low D Duo (whistle with Flute head) - bought used from a fella in Texas. The flute head was purchased by him later and there is a slight mismatch in the deepness of the color. I believe this is an older Dixon and the flute head does not have the raised “plate” around the hole. There are no gold bands painted on it. He and I have used plumbing tape to seal the head connection. Overall condition is average.
I just can’t get any consistency in blowing across that flute hole. The whistle part is fine - quieter than my Kerry for sure. The finger stretch is much easier than the Kerry. I believe the Dixon is one of the shortest. The Kerry gives me better “resonance”, and feel, and volume. You have to watch the breath control on the Dixon.
I’d like to get $50.00 plus shipping.

  2. Calemont Low D. Thought this might be the answer. Fingering is easy, but the tone is very soft. The “fipple” is unlike any other whistle I’ve seen. It has a large round chamber with an inner sleeve that partially covers the upper windway slot. It has an adjustment to slide for either more or less volume. I don’t get it frankly. I have played it very little, it is like brand new. I can send a photo of the fipple if you are interested. Shipping was pretty high from England, but I will eat a bunch of that.
I’d like to get $40.00 plus shipping

  3. SOLD Susato Low D Kildare with Angled Head and 1 key installed for Low D.

I’d like to stay with US shipping, but if you are in Canada or elsewhere, I’d like to discuss how to ship it, get thru customs etc. (I don’t know)

Thanks for looking. PM me please if you are interested.
