Former WRC champion Colin MacRae and son feared dead

Dunno if anyone here is a world rally fan but there was a helicopter crash near Colin MacRae’s property today and it seems quite likely, according to reports, that he was the pilot . Other reports are saying his son was also on board :frowning:

If it turns out to be true this will be a very sad day for motorsport. He was a superb driver and I know from people that met him at Scottish rally events that he’s a great bloke as well.

Looks like we won’t know for sure until tomorrow.

From what I heard, it was pretty much confirmed. A sad day indeed.

The second of two of my great heroes that has passed in a short period of time, the first being the great whisky guru Michael Jackson.

May they both rest in peace

Yeah it was confirmed yesterday afternoon. Very sad news

A friend of his son’s and a family friend from France were also killed in the accident :frowning:

In honour of the two British heroes that have passed this last month. Also two personal heroes for me from different fields, but equally amazing (and probably sharing a wee dram in heaven right about now)
