My sincere condoleances. Terrible news.

I am deeply saddened to hear about this. I see no sense in this loss, none whatsoever.

Rob

Sad news, may he rest in peace.
Tragic way to go…

i’m so sorry !! thats such sad news !

Me neither. terribly sorry. Utterly sucks.

It’s little enough, I suppose, but I contacted the DJ of our local folk music radio program last night and asked him to find an appropriate flute piece to play on the air in David’s honor.

He chose “Leaving Kintall”, from Cathal McConnell. It sounded like a flute band.

Rob

Oh, no! He was such a lovely fellow. I’m praying for his family. Please keep us posted if there’s anything we can do to help. God bless him; I’m so sorry.

Terrible, just terrible.

wow.
and it wasn’t but a bit ago that he and I correponded.
bastards
just not right. wasn’t even a soldier. stupid and senseless.
damn.

This is so sad. Condolences to his family.

I’m really sorry to hear this :frowning:

Very, very sad. My condolences to his family. I had interactions with him here and also had two or three lengthy telephone conversations with him a few years ago… We had very different world views (almost incomprehensible to each other), but shared a deep interest in flutery.
I believe he was an electrician by trade, and it may be (I speculate) a reflection of the depressed economy, especially of the construction industry here in GB, that he may have found it necessary to take work in so dangerous a place.
A tragedy.

David was a friend of mine, who was a true gentleman and a friend to all who knew him.So sad that he leaves behind a young family.
