I think many people may be taking instruments to give Dave a good send off after the service, however I suppose everyone will just be doing what they feel comfortable with.
Please feel free to spread the word as I’m sure there’re many people who’d like to know these details.
Thanks for the details Tim, is there going to be a gathering after the funeral at which it would be acceptable to play some tunes together?
I only met Dave once at last years Manchester UP gathering reed making tutorial, but I would like to give him a good send of and celebrate his great contribution to the music.
I’m not a piper but festival/club organiser and long-standing,very close friend of Dave - there will be a session on Thursday and the venue will be announced at the crem.

Tributes to the Waltham-based instrument maker have poured in from around the globe since his death last week.
His funeral tomorrow is expected to be attended by world-renowned musicians including Paddy Keenan, Fred Morrison and Michael McGoldrick. Pipe player Mark McIvor, who has been a friend of Mr Williams for 12 years, said: "Since David died, I have had dozens of pipers contacting me with tributes to him.
"People have been calling from Japan, and Italians who can barely speak English want to pay their respects too.
“To say the least, his work was magical, and he has left a massive legacy behind him.”
“Not only have we lost an irreplaceable friend, but his death had been a massive blow the music industry.”
Artist and musician Brian Vallely, a friend of Mr Williams for 10 years, is currently holding Northern Ireland’s Armagh Pipers’ Festival.
He said: “David’s death has been like a black cloud hanging over the festival.”
