On the baritone regulator how many millimeters up or down is the ‘D’ tone hole?
The drawing in 1978 edition measures 160 mm from the top of the pipe to the mark for the D. (as you know the drawings are 1/2 scale)

Great! Do you suppose that if you followed the blueprints in the book at that scale you could make a workable tiny set?
In my book (revised and updated in 2000) The mark of middle of the hole D is 337mm from the top. The hole itself is 6.5mm or 1/4"
That’s a pretty big difference. Was the whole regulator expanded in the 2000 version? I had the 78 version and from top to cork the baritone measured 350
A=162mm 3.5mm 9/64"
G=200mm 3.5mm 9/64"
F#=234mm 5.5mm 7/32"
D=337mm 6.5mm 1/4"
top cork packing 374mm boring 10.5 13/32"
throat 4.0 5/32"
all measurements start from reed seat
Where could one pick up a copy of this book?
i too would be interested in knowing where i might get a copy.
NPU you should have it. Also, You can get plans for C and D pipes from NPU made by Alan Ginsberg. Although I’ve heard varying reports as to the reliability of both, but particulalry the Garvin one. Although things may have improved with the updated version. Still both are very handy references to have. Ginsberg also has C# plans in the pipeline.

scratch that, i got mine from ebay, it’s a hardcover. if the publisher doesn’t have it on their site i’m sure either barnes and noble or amazon does…at least used…
The only places I’ve found the book are NPU, british ebay (1 used copy), and the Library of Congress
local library–if not, they should have an interlibrary loan program, they should be able to get it from another one, and you could borrow it for, say, two weeks. A librarian would know what interlibrary loan is.
Just did it today. Should have a copy in several days. thanks for the suugestion.
There is a small misprint with the chanterplans. At the picture the A hole is 8mm the corresponce measurement is 6.0mm. The 8mm is placed at the B. So the measurements from A and B are switched.
