For Sell Phil Bleazey low D

Up for sale is my Phil Bleazey low D in African Blackwood. I never like to sell my whistles since i am a collector, but a lot of my money went into college, and I am saving up for some Uilleann pipes. It is a very nice sounding whistle, but it needs to go to a home that will play it more. It has a very nice rich warm woody sound. There is a tiny problem with it, but it isn’t major. To have pitched to A=440, the tuning slide has to be pulled out about half way instead of the normal 1/4 of an inch. If you pull it out 1/4, it will be in tune, but you have to blow softer. If you a hard blower like me, then I have to pull it out about half way. Also, for the C nat, OXXOOO, you have to push it a little more to get it in tune, or OXOOOO works fine for me. The body is in perfect condition, except for the marks on the tuning slide, which doesn’t affect the playing at all. I have kept it well oiled, and it comes with a cloth travel bag. These cost around 600 USD new from him, I am asking 400. If any other questions, please feel free to ask.

Here it is next to my Burke, just to compare it.

Here it is by itself.

Here is to show the tuning slide, and the notches on it.

And here it is all apart, it comes in four pieces.

Ok, this item is sold, thanks for your interests.

Ok, this is being relisted because it was returned. The reason for it being returned is when you hit the high A and B, you can’t cross finger. It will squeak if you do. So, the sell still stands. It is a very fine whistle. I just got used to not cross-fingering just with the high A and B. The offer still stands, plus 12$ shipping with insurance.

still for sell due to reasons posted above.

here’s a bump.

I have a couple of bleazey whistles, a plumwood high d that Phil said is many years old, he called it a “medieval” model. Mack Hoover (great guy and valuable asset to this community) was gracious enough to make it tunable for me. It’s very nice and makes quite an account of itself. I also have a B flat olivewood. Other than the top few notes requiring considerable push, it is a beautiful clear woody sound that is as nice as its appearance.

Doc has a blackwood d in his store that evidently doesn’t have the high-note quirk. It’s got to be an extremely nice whistle that someone will be very fortunate to own.

A quirk or two is just to be expected in most any whistle, I’d say.

ok, i just got word from the person i sold it to, and i misunderstood him. he said you have to crossfinger to hit the high A or B. but in my experience with it, you just have to push a little harder to hit the higher two notes.

I sent a message to you.

Man, do I need a SECOND Bleazy low D to go with my olive one?

Hmmmmmmmm…
