Please contact me at my email address.
Steve - beautiful bunch of timber. Are the Bleazeys - Low F, G, A, Bflat, C, soprano D (left to right), with a low E/D set up top, and some Syns to the right?
Philo
Let me see if I can get this right:
From left to right: Grinter low F; Bleazeys in low G, A, Bb, C, and D; Lancewood Syn D; That one I can’t remember that has an irish penny in the case; Hoover D; and a Bleazey low D and flute up top.
I think Congrats has it. The one he does not know the name of is a Weston and looks to me as if it is made out of a fruit wood of some time possibly Apple. I remember Steve mentioning a Hoover Rewdwood Whsitle that must be it to the far right. Looks nice too bad I can’t put some cash into that.
I think we should have a contest. Whoever can guess the name and key of all the whistles in this picture wins . . .
… them all, of course! ![]()
Just preparing my list now… Jennie
Top is a Bleazey flute. I have a tentative sale on it, but still taking for sure offers. Will be posted in the flute forum.
Below that is my Bleazey Low D.
Left to right is the Grinter Low F, Bleazey G, A, Bb, C, D then my Lancewood Syn, Weston Sapele (a type of mahogany?) and Hover Redwood.
I’ll buy your Bleazey high D if you ever want to sell it! ![]()
I doubt IDAwHOa is selling his Bleazey D, but I know someone who is.
I think I know who is possibly buying that Flute as someone PMed me a couple days ago to ask how I liked my new Bleazey. Off the top of my head the only person I knew with a Bleazey in Mopane (yes they did specify the wood) was Steve (IDAwHOa) and I thought it couldn’t be him, guess I thought wrong. I am going to guess Renee likes the new M&E Cocobolo more as i know it is actually she who play Flute.
I must have been drugged before looking at the pic; can’t differentiate a flute from a whistle? Actually I have been drugged; just getting over two full weeks of the worst respiratory tract infection I can remember. ANyway, Steven, don’t you get some pangs of regret when you sell these beautiful instruments? It took me a year to decide to sell the Alba set, but I didn’t really play it much. Now I miss that set already; ah well, it seems to have found a good home where it’ll be played as it merits.
Good luck with the sale.
Philo
PS - Lisa I promise I haven’t blown into the Albas in at least two weeks..
Phil, I do not usually have any regrets about the sales I make. I am usually either reducing duplicity or upgrading to some other instrument that suits my tastes or playing style better. In this case I cannot say too terribly much about why the whistle is being sold. I do have an Overton low F and one other wooden one at this time.
As far as the flute goes, it was totally Renee’s decision. She played the M&E at Doc’s house (that man is totally dangerous to live near!!!) and she got THAT smile.
I did have to twist her arm a bit and once she realized that the sale of the Bleazey would all but make up the cost she REALLY SMILED!!!
You have all seen pictures of most of my whistles. I don’t think I have anything to be upset about. I just wish I could have worked out the trade I REALLY wanted to make with the Grinter.
