For Sale: O'Riordan Blackwood High D Whistle

1999 high D instrument, brass rings and slide. In essentially new condition, well cared for and regularly oiled. I am the second owner, the first owner bought it and hardly played it due to arthritis.

and a short no-effects recording:

I’m probably crazy to sell it, but I’m really one with my Copeland and Burke high D whistles, this one I’ve kept as a trophy in my closet more than to play. Its a lovely instrument deserves to be played out in the world.

Please email any questions about or offers on the instrument. I have a pretty good sense of what its worth.

I’ll wait for a week or so before putting it on eBay.

Cheers and thanks,

Michael

Perhaps this will sound dumb, but I don’t know how much the whistle is worth, however I might be interested. What kind of price were you looking at?

Thanks

Mark

Doing a quick search through the forums, this whistle has typically sold for $500 or more, so that’s the absolute minimum I’d consider for it. However, I’m told that if I put it on eBay, there is no telling how much it could go for.

Its a rather rare beast..

Cheers,

Michael

Thanks for the clip. Lotta life in the style, regardless of the whistle.

The O’Riordan is spoken for, I was made an offer I couldn’t refuse.

Very much like that tune and your performance of it.
Will you say what it is?

Lovely playing Michael.

The O’Riordan is spoken for at this time…

Sorry to hear about your arthritis, Mike. I hope it doesn’t keep you
from playing too much. I love listening to your versions of the tunes
on WhistleThis.com

Oh, I must have given the wrong impression, I’m not the one with the arthritis, its the person who originally sold me the O’Riordan. My joints are fine, thank goodness. Thanks for the kind words.
