following Kim's lead: Yahoo group for DC, DE, MD, NJ, PA and

Is anyone interested in a yahoo group for whistlers in the general area of DE,PA,NJ and MD? I run a few yahoo groups already, so if there’s interest, I’ll set up the group!

It seems there aren’t any whistlers in that part of the country. Why don’t you just move down here to pleasant Oklahoma?

Actually, I’m just bumping this to the top for people who might have missed it.

Kim

Even though I am completely ignorant of ‘Yahoo Groups’, I live in PA and am always interested in things that bring musicians together.
Cheers.

Byll,

Check out the one that I started last week. You can see how it operates and such.

Kim

I’m a Pennsylvania-area whistler. I could join.

Wait . . . no I’m not. But I do have some of those quarters that say “Pennsylvania” on them. They’re from the Denver mint, rather than the Philadelphia one, though, I think. Anyway, I bumped it up yet again.

I would sign up to such a group. Although I live in Pa, I am not much of a whistler.

I’d sign up. I live in MD, and have relatives in PA so it would be nice to have a clearing area for places to play in the mid-Atlantic region. Hmmm… MAW … We would go to MAW to find out were and when we could play. (Mid-Atlantic Whistlers)

Okay – we have a start. I’ll set up the group today and tell people how to join .

Tery

Easiest group I’ve set up . My other groups are either moderated or you can join only with approval. I followed Kim’s lead again and made this one totally open. I also left it listed in the yahoo listings.

MAW made me laugh, Lee, so I used it. We now have maw_whistles@yahoogroups.com .

The web page is at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/maw_whistles/ . Hope to see some folks there .

Tery

Well, now that you have set it up, I will just have to check it out.
Thanks for taking the time to get one going.

Kathy

Happy MAWing to us Mid-Atlantic Whistlers!
Edited to add: I signed up.

Signed up and posted a new session notice.
Fredrick MD every tuesdays Irish 1st 3rd and 5th, Old Time on 2nd adn 4th tuesdays.

I’m tickled to death that you borrowed my wording, even! It makes me feel I wasn’t totally idiotic! Ha ha!

Congrats on the new group.

Kim

I’m glad it was okay to borrow that, Kim. I figured you knew I was going to do that, since I’d already borrowed your idea and the format in which you set up the group.

Now what I’m doing is bouncing this back to the top because it’s Saturday and I’m guessing some people only check the board on weekends .

Tery

I just signed up. I’m just starting so I probably won’t have much to contribute but you never know
-Jim

Hey Jim, I’m very new too. I was at a workshop a week or so ago, with L.E. McCullough, and he said it’s best to learn with other people. So if there are enough newbies who live close enough together, maybe we’ll organize our own slow jam or something.

Tery

BTW the group also has a picture area. I uploaded a pick that Joe M. took when we were at the MD RenFest a couple of weeks ago.

Sounds like a good idea. Give me a few more weeks to practice though. “Mary had a little lamb” probably isn’t a good session song  Anyone know a good pub anywhere in the NJ, NY, MD, PA, or CT area?
