Hi all I have two flutes for sale. I Have ordered a new flute from Glenn Watson and need to free up some finances.
One is a three key ‘D’ Sam Murray, in blackwood in beautiful condition.
Second is an old English 8key in cocuswood, also in D. This is a beautiful old flute, but i have no idea as to where it was made as there are no markings anywhere on the body. There is an old repair to the head joint, but the flute is in tune and plays beautifully.
PM me for photos etc.
Hi sorry for lack of information, I am living in Dublin. The Murry as i said is a 3key Blackwood in D. The Keys are Fnat G# and Cnat. It is in as new condition with original case. Price is in region of 1,100 Euro.
The 8key is a beautiful old flute, to be honest I dont know the precise value of it or like i said, where it originates from. It has been in the family for over thirty years and was played constantly. I am hopig to get in the region of to 1500 euro, but am open to offers.
Hope this helps.
Sounds like a nice pair of flutes for sale…pictures might really help, especially on the antique English flute. I’m not in the market having recently bought a 5 key Baubet…just want to help you get the funding you need for your Watson flute!
Hi Shane, if it’s the older one I saw you play in Capel Street then it’s a mid 19th century 8 key English cocus wood flute with wide nickel silver bands in the style that list members here often refer to as a ‘Metzler’. I used to have one similar, Jem has sold a couple I think, nice flute, the repair could be tidied up cosmetically I guess. Apologies if it’s not the one I remember.
