favorite tunes

I find once learning a tune and mastering it, i move on to the next new challenge. Whilst learning this new tune i go over some of the older one’s i’ve mastered, to keep them alive and well. However the more tunes i l put towards my repertoire the harder it is to remember to play the ones that i learned way back. They seem to be forgotten until i hear them again from some other source. And it takes a while to get them mastered again.
There are of coarse my favorites which are never forgotten, because i just love to play them.

My question is what are YOUR favorite tunes to play, i mean the one’s you never forget, and are always a joy for you to play???

It will be an interesting way of learning new favorites

thank’s

I really love the Monaghan Jig. It’s such a malleable tune that lets you find new ways to play it all the time. Mary Bergin’s version is a great example of finding new twists to it.

I also really like Freize Breeches.

“Cooley’s reel” is probably my favorite tune and I’m always playing it and finding new variations.
I also like very much “Kid On The Mountain”, “Gravel Walk”, “Bag Of Spuds”, “The Glasgow reel”, “Morrison’s jig” and some others

hey it’s great to hear all these favorites, and some great new one’s to try
