Ooooh… Pretty. Are the lengths actually different or is that just a trick of perspective?
The sounding lengths (embouchure to the end) are all the same around 520-521mm. The lengths above the embouchure are variable, and have no bearing on the acoustics. Its just how the various pieces of wood turn out.

Those boxwood flutes are beautiful! Especially the one that’s second in from the right. ![]()
Nice stuff Casey! I’ve really grown into the flute you made for me last August. It’s an excellent instrument and the price is nothing short of pure generosity. I do wish it had a little more volume, but that’s likely more to do with me than the flute. Still working on that part. The hard D, however, is excellent.
Thanks again!

I’ve heard people playing flutes with huge toneholes and bores made by makers famous for making loud flutes that were unable to produce much more than a wisper out of them. If you know it is a quality flute, always blame yourself for not being able to play it loudly.
Very impressive picture Casey ![]()
Hence my disclaimer.
Nice picture! That would be a great wall paper!
i love your work ! and they all look so beautiful !
How much were you selling these for, and how much if I want to buy one (assuming you have more or can make more in the future). Just want a rough idea as I’m thinking about getting a wooden flute.
Casey! Curious, Are any of them bound for asia , or even south east asia?
