Eugene Lambe D 1/2 set for sale

Looks nice to me. Here’s a picture of the maker. I visited him some weeks ago.

Boris - Hope you’re not giving up piping. There are few enough uilleann pipers in Canada. Blasted GHB has a virtual monopoly. Nice set. Good luck with the sale.

Liraman - Is Eugene Lambe back making pipes? I heard that he had stopped while he was making a boat, or something like that.

He is in fact working on his Fanai - the boat, planning to go to Iceland. And yes he does not accept any orders for now.

Very nice looking work there Bo.

Well done!! We don’t have many uilleann pipers and even fewer pipemakers.

Bo,
You’ve done a great job on those pipes.I made myself a set of ssp’s,not near what’s involved, but i understand what it takes. With more canadians making pipes, like Neil, you keep the price down for the rest of us.
War.

[quote=“bo”] Thanks for posting that picture of Eugene. From what I’ve been told, his son is in the whistle/flute making business.

Yes, I played on one of his flutes at Eugene’s. That was a small d-whistle in silver, heavy as a low whistle, kind of strange to hold because of the weight, wonderful to blow
Ian Lambe’s low whistles have a good reputation. His web site is here:

As for your full set Bo: wonderful! I love it when the UPdesign seems to have morphed out of an early 19th century steam engine underlining the fact that the UP is not (only) part of some ancient celtc cultural history, but a modern instrument, born in and inspired by the early industrial revolution.
