hi guys can anyone out there give me some info on eugene lambe & some feedback & or pictures of his pipes.

My Lambe drones -
Made for me in 1992.
Mostly brass bass drone, sound okay. Nice drone switch easily flicked on or off with bottom hand thumb during tunes. Fairly budget in appearance, ie, brass tubing for slides as opposed to brass ferrules over wooden slides in better quality pipes. However in combination with my Maclolm McLaren composite reeds they are as steady as a rock, never fail to turn on, no varience in tone with pressure difference and have taken many a beating during festival and pub gigs.

my lambe drones,synthetic drone reeds,plays well,loud n proud!! switched out the lambe chanter for a whitmer,had too much trouble balancing,and reeding it. notice the dent in the bass,can this be repaired ?should i leave it alone? sounds ok.

hey pj, thank you,dont play the regs too much,still getting use to them,sounding decent though.the stock is lambe , still waiting for mr. whitmer to make a bass reg,someday perhaps. cheers. ps. did you go to the pipers gathering in vermont? i coulnt go

Alas no pipers gathering for me this year. New baby, new drones, regulators on the way. Money, money, money. Thinking about East Coast Tionol in late Sept. Might see you there. Anyway, better not hijack this post.
Here’s a photos of my old Lambe set. They were a solid set. The chanter wasn’t bang on in tune with any makers reed but close enough for learning on. The drones were rock solid and the regs got going eventually with new reeds and loads of blue-tack. I ended up using a Martin Preshaw chanter with the set which was a very good combination. I sold it to get my K&Q Taylor style set… mi amore!
