This is driving me nuts. I have been trying to figure out how to get an equalizer to change the sound of my computer system in Windows 7. Seems that Windows doesn’t have an EQ, but the sound card has something called Realteh digital output that has an “equalizer” function (control panel>sound>speaker properties>equalizer) but that only has preset functions like “pop”, “rock”, “classical”, etc. Unlike volume control the “equalizer” is buried several deep.
I am still trying to locate and find what my sound card is. In XP I would know where to look but in 7 it has eluded me.
This isn’t a problem with music, because almost any program that plays music has one, but when I am listening to things through my browser I am stuck trying to figure out which of these presets will work, then if I switch from speakers to headphones another adjustment is needed.
It seems so odd to me that with all of the additional games, useless programs, and other junk that that is all they have for an EQ. Maybe there is a Firefox plug in, but is seems so redundant to need separate redundant equalizers. I think I know of 5 on my computer.
