Geek help needed: no audio in Firefox

Stating a day or so I have no audio in Firefox (Windows 7). Other programs like iTunes play audio just fine. If I play a YouTube video, the video part plays but no sound. This was also happening with Internet Explorer. I’ve tried restoring Firefox to it’s initial state (an option within the Firefox menu). I restored Windows to a restore point before this issue started. Uninstalled and reinstalled Flash. That fixed the Internet Explorer problem, but not Firefox.
Any other suggestions? I’m thinking of uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox but would rather not lose all of my bookmarks, etc.

Update-- I did uninstall/reinstall. Still no luck.

I dunno. You might try pulling up your “Volume Mixer” under Windoze. You will find separate settings for various programs. Firefox will be one of them. For some reason, certain programs turn the volume a;; the way dowm . In my experience ‘ABC Navigator’ was one of the offenders. . .

Brewerpaul,

In Firefox, you can store + import all your bookmarks in one step.

See: Bookmarks → Show all Bookmarks → Import and Backup
