My dinosaur computer crashed about a month ago and I got a lower-end cpu to replace it. My old computer had a nifty sound program that let me play live sound so that things sounded like I was in a cave, cathedral, symphony hall, and all kinds of other settings. Is there a good free program that I can download somewhere? Anyone? Bueller?
You may find something here:

You may find that yer “nifty sound program” came with your sound card
and now you have a different sound card that doesn’t come with a program
to access the nifty features that the sound card doesn’t have.
can I just download the previous nifty sound program from my previous computer onto my new computer? can i do the same thing with the microsoft word program that came with my old computer? i’m going to try it anyway.
Get in yer car and fly out here. I’ll draw ya some pictures! ![]()
Was it a unique sound card, or was the sound chip on-board the motherboard? If the board was independent, you could try moving it into the new system, which will mean disabling the sound chip/card that’s there. Computers don’t play well with multiple cards, or didn’t when last I looked into this. If the features were built into the card, which seems likely, you won’t attain it by moving the software alone.
Some people just duct-tape a transistor radio in there under the power supply.
of course it was silly!
it was the one in Mute’s old computer
