Made an enquiry about the seller from an NSP/UP maker I know and this is his reply
“Colin Ross and Dave Burleigh use the word with particular reference to fettling NSPs, and I assume this is where the seller picked it up - anything pipewise he picks up seems to need some fettling afterwards!
He is more a dealer than a piper and buys ‘for himself’ only to sell on and had a website called http://www.classicbagpipes.co.uk selling mostly GHBs which now seems defunct”
He is known for ruining reeds so I would guess this is all that needs ‘fettling’
Probably will not go for it as the ‘natural mounts’ may cause travelling difficulties
Libel

Libel
to wit be ye referring as twood only be libel if it twer untrue and the maker I was in touch with has had furst hand experience of the seller
I have removed the name and replaced it with ‘The Seller’
For your information his name has cropped up on other forums with similar postings concerning his doing this to a well known NSP maker
Ye did the wise thing to remove the name. The libel laws in this country are open to all sorts of skullduggery.I wouldna want tae argue with a good libel lawyer and I am sure ye wouldna want to either.Quite apart frae involving the moderators in this as they could be held liable for the printing of the defamation be it troo or not,why are ye bothered if ye don’t want to buy.Na don’t answer its none o my business.Ciao

I think what BigDavey might be getting at is that this seller is more of a pipe merchant, than a player wanting to pass on a set he,s tried for a while, there is a difference.
Erm whit has poor auld Big Davey done tae be dragged into this.he didnae say anything did he? ![]()
he didnae say anything did he?
No, but we all know what he was thinking …

Sure, but 99% of eBay sellers are selling for profit, and not because they want to free up space at home.
