Good one JES ![]()
The seller will be lucky to get any bids at the new starting price - £2500 is a bit steep for a set in unknown condition IMO.

I am selling this chanter. It is first time I sell on ebay, so i am not familiar with the way it goes.
It was about the shippingcost and how to ship.

Can anybody elaborate on the MacHarg set? Price is started really low, and seller doesn’t seem to know that much about it. I tried researching, and found Iain MacHarg in VT, but couldn’t find much on pipemaking. Anyone with knowledge either post or PM? Thanks…still wanting a cost-effective practice set, likely a Daye, but trying to educate myself as to avoid junk. ![]()

I’m a smallpipe maker. I’ve met Michael MacHarg about 10 years ago and had the pleasure of checking out his work. Very high quality stuff! His business is called, “The Wee Piper”. http://www.weepiper.com/
I was not aware that he was making Uilleann pipes. Might be worth an email or a call to see if he actually makes Uilleann pipes or if someone is just using his name. But if he is into making them, I have no doubt that they will be just as fine a quality of all the other styles he makes.

Mike MacHarg does make uilleann pipe bags, but his have a riveted seam so that’s not likely one of his bags.
I believe he makes primarily riveted bags now but he did make stitched bags before. I happen to have an older one like that. I’ve have seen other practice sets that he made, also with a stitched bag.

I don’t think is Des Seery’s work. More like Mid East…

A brand-new, unused, > unopened, > undamaged item in its original packaging
Don’t know about much uilleann pipes but > it has a nice sound
Dont think Dez would be too happy to be associated with this bit of firewood
