Vintage Bagpipe Palm Nut Ivory , Ebony & Silver on ebay.co.uk
!
something’s funny here, watch out
pictures are reused from a high-value auction a long time ago
only 21 hours to go, 91% (!) positive… ?
“I know nothing about bagpipes…” etc.
so what gives
I think I have seen this set at a makers under restoration the huge mounts on the regulators are unmistakable and they are not palm nut mounts but something more traditional. Will see if he will comment.
As BillH says something fishy here ![]()

This is the 3rd or 4th time this item has appeared on eBay in the past 18 months. The first sale was legitimate. The rest bogus. Someone is reusing the photo from the original.
From what I know, the real set (possibly Taylor) is with a certain wellknown pipemaker for restoration.
I asked the seller to post a new photo. That should be interesting…
I only live 15 miles away from telford so i think i`ll put a bid in and collect the item if i win. No chance of being scammed then.
Yep that Tayloresque set sold a long time ago and a scammer has been using photos from the original auction to create bogus auctions ever since. They come up on a regular basis.
Interestingly I saw my old set come up on Ebay a couple weeks ago. It went cheap- $2400 as I recall. A full set by Eugene Lamb that plays great, with a Kirk Lynch fully keyed chanter.
The set has been removed five hours before the end of the auction…
I contacted the seller to view the pipes and he told me he had already sold them but was unable to end the auction early as it was in its last few hours
Half set that has been ‘tootaled’ on just a few times ![]()

Beat BigDavy to spotting and posting about a set again ![]()

Hi Elmek
Not quite - that one is a deliberate non post on my part, it is a Mid East half set, and has it’s origins in Pakistan.
