EARLY NICKEL PHILADELPHIA COPELAND WITH SHAMROCK FOR TRADE

Hi all,

I have recieved my new Ward flute, and am swinging back into flute big time, I recently sold my Rose, and now want to trade my early Copeland nickel high D, stamped with Copeland Philadelphia and the shamrock symbol, the fipple is delrin and it has a band on the slide part which his new ones dont have, and a engraved groove at the foot, I have owned previously a silver/nickel/brass new copelands and this older one is very different the upper notes A and B if memory serves are a lot nicer on the ear, not to say the new ones are bad, it just I found them a little loud up there in the heavens, the whistle is also of a slightly thinner nickel which creates a very nice sweet tone, it is nicely focused and has very little chiff and again if memory serves its quieter than the modern ones, its in great condition and has no dents,
I will try and upload some picks later.

to the nitty gritty, I have been trying out various digital recorders and am looking to buy one so I thought I would offer the whistle up as a trade,

I am not after a multitracking machine as I made the mistake of buying a tascam pocketstudio 5, and it was way too complicated, I have been to my local Guitar shop in Brighton and the models that I find relativly easy
are
M-Audio Microtrack 2
Edirol RO9
not keen on the zoom H4 OR H2
if you have anything else let me know these are just the ones I have played with at the music shop

so if you were thinking of offloading a dig recorder e-mail me or PM

Copelands of this vintage dont come up often, I think I have only seen one previously, If there are no takers on a trade I may ebay it or offer it up on the board, not sure at what price though due to its rarety

Cheers sponge

Best time to do it. :smiling_imp:

I’ve got an Olympus WS-310M that I found to be very satisfactory for recording session and the like. It is very small and easy to operate with the ability to store about 17 hours of MP3 recorded stuff. For learning tunes it has a play-back at 1/2 speed function that I found useful. It has a built-in USB connector and downloads to PCs without fuss. It does not download to Mac, however; hence (since getting a Mac) I moved on to the Zoom H2. Here is a link to the Olympus site.

The Edirol R09 is WONDERFUL; worth every penny. My sweetie and I bought it together for Christmas a couple of years ago. The sound quality, even at lo-res MP3, is terrific.

(But sorry, I’m not letting mine go )
