Stormy here, too.

Those pictures were very interesting—from a distance.
:astonished: :astonished: :astonished: We had golfball sized hail here once, but not baseball sized! That must’ve made quite a racket. Did you go to the basement?
I hope you don’t mind if I copied a picture here but I have a question. In this picture, is this what would be called a “funnel cloud”? I guess it isn’t yet a tornado, right? I have never seen one, thank goodness, but would like to know for sure what they look like. If this isn’t a funnel cloud, I can’t imagine what would be!

They were actually pointing at that particular dip in the clouds on the news. That wasn;t really worrying me to much as there wasn’t much rotation. The big depression a few pics earlier(maybe later) was what I was watching. There was another rotating dip right about the middle of it at one point.

I have a video from earlier today my sister shot while were on our way home from looking at the house I am buying when it was hailing much smaller size. Sounds like we are being peppered

Cool stuff.

Cynth,

Here’s a couple of images. #1 Funnel and wall cloud.

#2, typical funnel cloud>

Whoa… That funnel and wall cloud is one of the most evil-looking weather images I’ve ever seen. The stuff of nighmares… :astonished:

My favourite story was a few years ago not far from here, I think it was in Dundas, Ontario. A tornado hit a drive-in theatre. Guess what was playing? Yep - Twister. I’ll bet the movie-goers thought the special effects guys had gone a bit overboard.

djm

that was a dip in the cloud layer. Sorry missed the actual question earlier. There was no rotation visible in that particular area but the weather guys on TV were pointing it out as possibly worrisome. The one I didn;t like was an area I could not get a good view of from my house. In this picture you can clearly see the wall forming as the clouds depress upwards.

the are that I could see that was rotating is just out of frame on the left.. bascially blocked by the house in this pic

There was a distince rotating lowering there but no funnel actually formed thank God.

I went to visit my woman friend in Indianapolis last weekend. I was lucky because on the Friday evening before I arrived, a storm brought large-size hail to midtown Indy. Depending on where you lived, the hail was golf ball, tennis ball, or baseball size. Let me tell you that when baseball size hail hits your car, you really don’t have much of a car left. Just think of your problems if you owned a car dealership in the area. My friend made it through with two broken windows in her house and $3600 damage to her car. I am sorry to report that there were dead cats that were out in the hail storm. That is sad if you are a cat lover. If not, you can concentrate on the the roofs that were battered to pieces. But life goes on. After the storm the weekend weather was terrific. The songbirds that survived the hail storm were singing like crazy, defending their territory, like all creatures have been doing since the beginning of time. I love it.

Hmm… okay… followed your links… no wonder our weather is similar.

heheh don’t feel bad I just glanced at you avatar signature myself hehe

did you find yourself going gee that storm looks familar?
