That could sure get exciting in a hurry.
It looks like the tail of a giant wasper coming to sting your entire house!
I hope it stayed airborne.
F1 just a few miles north of me the other day.

What was really impressive about the Toronto storm was the amount of hail that came down in some areas. It was several cm’s deep in some places.

wheew!!!
good thing I only have to worry about is the 800 fires going on around here..
I have been gigging in Omaha for the past month, and where I have been staying is only a couple of miles from where the twister that killed four members of a boyscout troop struck. It was a very rough, very sad day.
One of the bartenders sent me a photo his mother had taken of the tornado and I thought to share it here, but I can’t figure out how to get it from my gmail account to a photo hosting site to here. Take my word for it, it is one really nasty looking vortex.
We miss you!

Thanks, unfortunately I am at the mercy of my room mate’s machine and it doesn’t have the “wherewithall” to download the photo. I can use another friend’s machine but it may take a couple of days to get there. I’ll keep you posted.
… and thanks Jack, it’s been a long road to perdition for me. ![]()

And people tell me MY connection is slow!

The simplest answer is to forward the message with the photo to someone, and let them post it. My login at vcn dot bc dot ca would work.
Joe’s friend’s tornado photo:

Clearly, being Joe’s friend is a risky proposition. ![]()

THanks S1m0n, I appreciated your help in this. ![]()
I love that last picture. Man.
It’s cool until I think “that cloud killed four kids”, and then it’s not quite so cool any longer.

Was this in fact the same tornado? How do they work; is there just one eye, like a hurricane? or can the same stormfront produce lots of vortices?
Yes, this is the same tornado that devastated the Boy Scout camp at Little Sioux IA, about two miles from where I was staying all last month. Four scouts were killed by this tornado. In fact, the photo was taken moments before the camp was hit.
A supercell (the thunderstorm most associated with tonados) can produce multiple tornados, although only one was documented from this particular storm.
June proved to be a record setter for Omaha and surrounding communities.
I love that last picture. Man.
Tell me that isn’t because it’s got the Stars & Stripes on a flagpole in the middle of the picture…
