Does this look like it's any good?

What do you think of this deal? A find, or too good to be true?

Looks like the Sparkomusik ones to me - and this dealer stocks others that are definitely Pakistani table-leg material. Sparkomusik are a little more honest about who they are and what they are selling, and are cheaper! That said, I think that a similar looking flute (different case) that I bought second hand, tweaked and got really pretty good may have been from much the same source originally, though I didn’t know that at the time. These particular ones may be OK or makeable so, but I wouldn’t buy one without test playing it! Exercise extreme caution!

Many thanks. I asked the readership of this list for input, knowing that I’d get straight answers.

Sure enough, no manufacturer is named. A strong hint of Pakistani origin. I am not rushed to buy another flute, but I am keeping my eyes open for a REAL deal.

I’ll keep playing my Tipple, which is really a good instrument–even I sound pretty good.

Whenever i see that the flute’s tuned in “DD”, i strongly suspect it’s from Pakistan.

shhhh…makes it easy, it does

Or India

awww, c’mon folks!

why wouldn’t you try to find a good playing flute for under $200 brand new? sounds legit to me! I mean, what makes anyone not believe this flute plays as well as the $500+ variety?

Well if anyone knows its David that a flute is just a tube with some wholes in it.

Buncha elitists ya’ll are.

Jus gimme a hunk o wood and my Swiss army knife and I can do one up on the kitchen table. :smiling_imp:

Whole whats? I’m sure there’s a hole in your argument somewhere but I just fell down it so I missed something…

Doh!

I’m blame the scotch… or the Scots.
