Does James Dominic Music ship from within the EU?

I’m looking to buy my first low D, and I’m on the verge of buying a James Dominic Music Low D.

From what I can read on the web site, its run by Jimmy Cummins in his small workshop in Co. Carlow in Ireland. And I read, in not as clear terms as I’d prefer, that he also ships from the shop.

The shipping address makes a difference for me. Not the particular address :smiley: But whether or not it’s in the EU. The price difference with toll and other fees, should I order and have sent a package from a shipping address outside of the EU, could close to double the cost of the whistle.

Now, why would Jimmy ship from an address other than his shop? And, particularly, outside of his home country? I feel silly even writing this post :slight_smile: But who am I to say how people run their businesses. Could be that a whistle maker has a depot somewhere and rents some service to ship the whistles from there… I don’t know!

So, did you recently order from James Dominic Music and can you confirm that it’s shipped from Co. Carlow or, at least, within the Republic of Ireland?

I mailed JDM to ask, but haven’t heard back - and I can sympathize with that. If it’s really a one-man operation, and that man is busy producing and shipping whistles that I assume are in high demand, I get it if he has little time to answer mails at the moment.

I don’t know about that but their website gives an email and phone number for shipping enquiries.
That’s where you get reliable answers.

As I said above, I mailed already.

After asking this question, I also messaged on Facebook’s Messenger.

Then I got impatient and overcame my reluctance to make a phone call shivers and got Jimmy on the phone. My silly question is answered: he ships from Mullaunmore in Ballon in Co. Carlow in the Republic of Ireland - within the EU :slight_smile:

Placed my order last night, looking forward to experiencing low notes and inadequate finger flexibility :sweat_smile:

Yes, that’s what I meant. A phone call usually gets the reluctant emailers.
