shipping questions....?

Hey all sorry to have to post this but i’ve looked around and couldn’t find the answer. I purchased a kerry songbird low D off of the kerrywhistles website, and I am having it shipped to my house in Napa, California. I purchased the whistle on the 14th of June, and it still hasn’t shown up yet. Does anyone know how long it takes to ship a whistle from England (I’m assuming that’s where the company is based in, correct me please if I’m wrong) to California? I’m just very excited to get my first low D whistle . And I’m sure I’m just being impatient, but I was just wondering when I should start to expect it, instead of going out to my porch every hour every day to see if it has shown up yet

I’ve had Phil send me two whistles (including a songbird low D), and they both arrived in about 10 days or so. I believe that he may have been doing some travelling recently, but he is very good to do business with and I expect that he would let you know if there was going to be much of a delay. You will probably be seeing the whistle quite soon. The songbird is a beautiful thing. Good choice, you’re going to love it.

I send items to the US quite often, I am also based in the UK, it depends
how phil sends out his whistles, if he uses parcelforce international standard, it is usually 5 to 7 days, but that would be quite expensive,
I normally use royalmail international signed for which again is usually
5 to 7 days but can take more than 10, most uk services are only tracked up until there entry into the USA then its handed over to your USPS,
unless he uses a courier service like fedex/dhl/ups, so I would’nt worry.

And remember a watched pot never boils.

hey thanks, that helps a lot. Atleast now I know it should be here within the next week.

Why don’t you just send Phil an e-mail?

Shipping is pretty fast, but customs sometimes takes a while, depending on their mood…US and UK are pretty good though. Tony Hinnigan and I just sent a whistle back and forth for tuning and it went quickly both ways.

I feel your pain, whistlin’fool, because I recently went through that pins-n-needles experience of waiting for a whistle to arrive. There should be a support group to help people make it through that horrible period between the bliss of ordering a new whistle and the ecstasy of playing it for the first time.

Hello, my name is Otter, and I ordered a whistle. It was a week ago and it hasn’t come yet. I check the mail five times a day. I check my email every fifteen minutes just to see if there’s any word. I . . . I don’t think I can hang on. What if it’s lost? What if I keep waiting and waiting and . . . ! Should I send them an email? What if they write back and tell me that they could get orders out more quickly if they didn’t have to answer emails about when my whistle’s gonna get here? I just . . . I can’t take it!

Just remember, you are not alone. You have friends here who understand. Everything will be alright, you’ll see.

try waiting 3 years for an instrument to be ready… i’m almost through year number one for my concertina.

three years!!! :astonished: i don’t think i’d be able to handle that; i can hardly handle the idea that my whistle might show up by friday (i keep checking the porch atleast three times a day, no matter how much i try not to)

i cant handle it either. you go through stages. you start off excited. then you get anxious. then you get upset. then you forget all about your instrument. dont worry, as soon as i get notice that my concertina is ready it’ll take everything in me not to take the whole week off work to sit on the front porch ready with a knife to open the package.

Well, just from my personal experience with my Songbird, I received the whistle exactly two weeks after ordering it, and I’m on the east coast near New York City so it may take a bit longer to get all the way out west. Phil was reliable and offered good communication whenever I had a question.
