Ms. Morrison is a multi-instrumentalist (piano accordion, melodeon, 5-string banjo, English concertina, Anglo concertina, Irish pennywhistle) with 20 years of experience as a dance musician and teacher.

She is accomplished in various instrumental styles, including Appalachian Old Time, New England contra dance, Irish, Scandinavian, Klezmer, and other European folk dance music.
She is featured playing whistles and concertina on the CD “Celtic Consort,” and has been a guest musician on 10 other commercial recordings.

An award-winning whistle player, she has conducted workshops at Maryland Banjo Academy, the Washington Folk Festival, FSGW Minifest, Takoma Park Folk Festival, and other local folk festivals. She has appeared over the years with several DC-area Irish, old-time, and contra dance bands and is author of the book Pretty Complete Guide to Squeezeboxes.

Attendees should bring a tape recorder, blank tapes, spare batteries, and a D whistle. She may talk about other keys of whistle, so if you have a C or B-flat whistle, you should bring it too.
