David Daye Penny Chanter in D on Ebay

There’s a David Daye penny chanter in D on ebay with a Cnat key.

To be fair it does actually say something like “David Daye Penny Chanter Style” So possibly not actually one of his.

And I guess you’re the seller so would know

There are no markings that I’ve found. The item is part of a collection from an estate. Unfortunately there were no records indicating sources, etc. for many items.

Dave generally pencils some seemingly cryptic information onto the blades of his reeds, giving the cane batch and possibly the date of make. If any markings can be read, I am sure Dave could be of assistance in identifying the reed.

Only thing on reed is words “v good reed”. No way to say if its original. There’s teflon tape over the winding on the reed but that doesn’t mean much except that at one point it may have been a bit leaky.

I have a Daye chanter and it is stamped DAYE and a number at the top(reed end) of the chanter.

There is a stamp (very small) which I’d missed earlier at the very top of the chanter. Its followed by “020” and then possibly some other numbers which are indecipherable - to me anyway.
