Erik,
There are a gazillion of eBay bidders out there. Be patient…
Placing a fair bid in the beginning (to get it over with) will surely guarantee that someone will outbid you.
I suppose so, but sometimes I get the deal that I want and I rarely have bidders remorse. Plus I get the fun of bidding (if I wait until the end, I often don’t have the money to even bid). So for me I win some, loose some, but get a good mix of both. There’s NOTHING (obvious allusion to current thread on same topic) on e-bay that I’ve GOTTA have.
Plus Aodhan is going to end up sending his whistle to me for fixing him up with a nice girl. You’ll see.
I had some aluminum tube delivered to my house the other day and the postlady left it at the front door. We had guests for dinner and as we sat and talked I opened the package that had been sitting at our door for several hours.
Well, talk turned to “The Christmas Story”. I’m sure you see where this is going… aluminum doesn’t warm up from -30 very quickly and I had the irresistable desire to stick my tongue on it. I thought, it’s been in the house for 15 minutes, what could possibly go wrong.
Yeah, well. Let’s just say that I was tasting dinner with a few less taste buds.

While that might be tempting, Erik, I believe that my current girlfriend might have something to say about that. Unless you can find me another flute and whistle playing open championship irish dancer willing to let me play poker whenever I want somewhere…
I can’t be sure, but this may be a whistle I sold some time ago. My Low A had a slight ding in the same spot and the referenced “serial number” is probably not a serial number but a year of birth that Michael put there for me. If it’s that whistle, it’s pretty old and not a bad whistle.
Add my name to those whose name went on the bid list. I bid the $79 and of course it went to $80. I wonder how many different board members names will show up before it’s over?
Ok, Tony. You were right on this one! Now I’m frustrated… that was my $100 bid! I was about to up it to something like $110-120, but thought, no Tony will think I’m a hypocrite after I just said that I bid what I can afford. LOL! ARRRG.
Erik
post edit… It was you, Ken! LOL! What, are we both going for all the A’s in the world?

That’s strange. I would have bet they got three times that for the Copeland.
Guess I’ll have to bid on Kim’s sneakers. In the back of my closet I have a pair of green high-top Chuck Taylors circa 1977. I wonder what they might fetch…
