Hello,
Just a brief note to say that Pat Broaders, Kevin Henry, and I are going to re-form the Chicago Pipers’ Club, and hope to have an inaugural gathering sometime this spring. Anyone interested in being on the mailing list to be contacted about such an event please email me at kjpohare@gmail.com with a cc to pat.broaders@gmail.com. The club had its beginnings in 1907, I believe, so we think it’s time to get things rolling again!
Best regards,
Kieran O’Hare
bit out of my driving range, but wish i could be there!! have a pint for me.
I’ll be in Chicago visiting family for the last half of march. I’d love to be there for this. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that the date falls in my period of time in Chicago.
Cheers,
Mike
Excellent news and about time too! Why was it ever disbanded? There has always been a great number of pipers in and around Chicagoland.
Pat.
Ask Kevin if he remembers attending this (unofficial?) iteration of the Chicago piper’s club, held at the home of Dave Page in Chicago in October 1972. Photos courtesy of John Tuohy.
