Cherish the Ladies concert

Did anyone else out there see the Cherish the Ladies concert Sunday evening in Abingdon, VA? The Ladies put on quite a show! I’ve seen four of their concerts over the years and this was the best. Their new singer (Heidi Talbot) has an amazingly beautiful voice. She will be a great addition to this wonderful group.

Hey, I was there too! You are so right, they were wonderful. I took my mom along and though she was not familar with them she said" they are a completely different caliber of performers, wonderful!"
I was so pleased that they did Broom O’Cowdenknowes since that song is a particular favorite of mine, since I first heard it by Battlefield Band, and I named one of my favorite Skye Terriers after that tune.
Did you get to talk with them afterwards? That was particularly nice, I did get to speak with Joanie Madden a bit. She is truly an amazing whistler, heck, they’re all pretty amazing musicians. And nice folks too.

Yep, I did get to speak briefly with all of them after the show. What a treat!

Yes, but did you get Joannie to sign your whistle?

That brings up a problem I’ve been mulling over. They’re coming here in December. This site isn’t a very good one for meeting the performers or getting an autograph, but if the chance arises, I’d like to try and get Joanie’s autograph on my favorite whistle - except the choice comes down to an Overton (aluminum) or Silkstone (green). Other than a piece of masking tape on the whistle, which I’d rather not do, I can’t figure out how.

I guess I could take a white PVC Susato Dublin, and it’d still be nice to get her autograph, but given my feeling for the whistle in question, presenting it to sign would too much like an insult.

Hopefully, if I can work it out and get the signature on the whistle I prefer, neither Paul nor Colin would object to my modifying their product in that way.

I would inquire at a good art supply shop. You could probably apply some sort of primer to the autograph area, then a pen or marker (or even a soft graphite pencil) could be used for the autograph, then apply a protective coating of clear lacquer or varnish.
