John,
CTL will be at the Cleveland Irish Heritage Festival in Berea at the end of July. They have appeared there the past couple of years. It’s a nice family-oriented festival - not so big as to be unmanageable but big enough to get CTL, Tommy Makem and others. Can you hold out til then?

WooHoo!!! I about passed out!! (not really but hey, it was the coolest! )
She actually signed the tuning slide of one of my whistles but wouldn’t do it 'till she played it first!! Ugh! I don’t know if I should post anything she said w/o her direct permission, so I will just say she gave me many positive words about it, some thoughts, and I got myself a big hug, handshake, and a picture together! What a wonderful and very nice lady! (all of them are)
Cloud 9 isn’t even close! I am trying to decide what to use to put a permanent finish onto the tuning slide so her signature won’t wear off. It’s done in felt tip marker. Plenty of time to dry now… just trying to think what will cover, seal good, but not make the marker run. Any for sure comments??? I’ve got spray varnish, laquer, gel super glue (hey don’t laugh… it actually will make a good clear coat if you are VERY careful).
Take care all. Wayne’s Worls flash back… " I’m not worthy!!! "
John McHaffie (wondering how the whistle did not melt as her fingers flew)
No Kidding… WOW!!! Bought that CD and got a signature immediately afterward. Joanie pointed out that Heidi wasn’t feeling that well either, had the flu. If that’s the case… OMGosh… all I can say is wow.
Joanie is amazingly gracious with her audience. I had her autograph my Thin Weasel case several years ago.
Last time she and the Ladies came to Troy, I asked her ahead of time if she would be willing to listen to my whistles. She agreed, and after the concert I waited for her to finish autographing albums and greeting old friends. She ( and the rest of the band) didn’t leave until EVERY fan was satisfied. Then, even though it was getting quite late, Joanie sat and played about 6 of my whistles for about 45 minutes and gave me some wonderfully useful comments. Amazing experience, from an amazing musician and person.
