There’s a new 6 part series coming up on TG4 about instrument making.
The first part is about button accordion making, next sunday night at 10.00
Don’t worry if you miss it, it’ll be on video a couple of days after, probably in the Ceol or Faisnéis department on TG4 web tv.
Great - thanks for the tip-off! Fascinating to watch Martin Connolly at work, and watch lots of great box playing too.
PS Silvio - lots of shots of Christy Leahy playing and talking…
Wonderful!
I’ve see now on TG4 online… Thanks Lixnow and Steve for this news.
Probably I meet Christy at the end of March in Rome, because there is the Rome Irish Fleadh, but the best event is the born of Christy’s son! Wow… another great accordion player? ![]()
I’d love to have seen this…anyone know the name of the program itself?
For anyone in Canada we have a show called ‘How it’s made’ that takes you through factories to see stuff made like telephones and bandages and icecream and stuff. One of the latest ones was for accordion making.
It’s “Ceird an Cheoil”, as the topic says…
Now on YouTube, in four segments. Don’t miss it!
