Someone know about this CD slow down? It is advertised for guitar or bass. Will it work for whistle? Has a seamless loop function for repeating favorite licks and leads. Allows slow down by 50% without changing pitch.

I tried one a friend owns. The more you slow down the speed, the more distorted the sound gets. It can get pretty muddy if there’s an ensemble playing. Even the expensive Superscope devices have the same problem. What works better is software on your computer. Much less distortion and much cheaper. I use Goldwave, which is editing software. You have to click a few more times to set it up, but it sounds way better.

Hi Tommy!
Try this one:
Best Practise
It doesn’t have all the features of the Amazing Slowdowner but it is simple, it works and it is free.

I think this is the point in the thread where I typically chime in with a reference to TRANSCRIBE, a very useful tool of this type.
I believe the thirty day free trial feature is still in effect. I have no regrets about the $40.00 I paid about 5 years ago. There have been several upgrades and there is ongoing improvement–all coverd by the initial purchase price.
I have no knowledge of the several arguably comparable products, a few of which are available at no cost. As is often the case with software, I like the one I know. If I had a similar time investment in another product, it is likely that I would feel similarly about that product.

Check out Audacity. It is available on Mac and the other evil system. This is also true of ASD. I think that is one were to spend time with Audacity it would be a more powerful tool than ASD and Audacity is free.
