Anybody have this CD? I was snooping around the UCD website, at here I found this press release:
"In November 1997, a CD of Irish traditional music and song was published by UNESCO, consisting of 21 tracks from the sound archives of the Department of Irish Folklore at University College Dublin. The CD, which is entitled Ireland - Irelande: Musiques Traditionelles d’Aujourd’hue - Traditional Musics of Today, is over an hour in length. The earliest recordings on the CD were made by staff members with the Irish Folklore Commission and more recent recordings by staff members of the Department of Irish Folklore.
All of the material was recorded between 1941 and 1992. The CD contains songs in Irish and in English, and instrumental music illustrating airs and tunes on fiddle, tin whistle, concertina and uilleann pipes. Representative examples from many parts of Ireland are included. The digital remastering of the original recordings was undertaken by Harry Bradshaw, courtesy of RTÉ Commercial Enterprises and RTÉ Radio. Dr. Ríonach Uí Ógáin, from the Department of Irish Folklore, UCD, was responsible for the selection of the material and for the accompanying booklet."
I found the track listing here. No artist info. One site was selling it for US$27.
