Casey, I’ve momentarily returned, simply because a recent C&F FF thread, one which misspelled your name, got my attention.
As numerous of the C&F members could already know, I am originally a Boehm system flute player, and my experience with Boehm flutes goes back to 1962. Moreover, my adoption of the Irish flute came many years later, but as an instrument it was an easy transition.
The earlier thread mentioned Mr. Burns’ Folk Flute, with which I have no experience. Frankly, as a Boehm player, I have no interest in flutes with lesser venting.
However, I do have two of Mr. Burns’ keyless, Blackwood, Large Holed “Standard” D flutes, one with tuning slide and rings, and one without.
These are excellent flutes, first class, if ever. I’m very pleased to have them, and I’m here just to say so, thank you.

I couldn’t agree more. Casey makes some of the best, and playable, flutes around. His folk flutes have done more to put quality flutes in a players hands than anything else I can think of since they are voiced and carefully made just like his higher end flutes. Speaking of which, I don’t believe you could find a better flute, just different ,from another maker.

While I have not been fortunate enough to try a Casey Burns flute I can tell you from chatting with Casey he is a gem of a guy! I am VERY glad to see a thread specifically to praise Casey.
