The seller says the whistle is stamped “Sarkar. Made In India.” I’m none the wiser. Does anyone have experience of these whistles?
Standard sort of cheap Indian job that you see in ‘music’ shops in tourist towns. I have seen them in the window of McNeill’s.
They have been discussed before.
I played a couple of these. Low G and D.
Very roughly made. Low D was made from very thin unreliable metal tube. Low G was actually a G# or G## and was out of tune in itself. The only thing i liked was the whistles’ tone.
I have also played one similar whistle once a donkey’s age ago. That one was Bb-ish pitch wise, but had decent intonation and pretty nice sound.
Nothing i’d actually spend money on though.
