Can anyone help me with transcripts of:

Some tunes of the lord of the dance (yeah, I know but I figured I might enjoy watching the show and the music now that his holyness is no longer a participant).

I’m taking my mother as a surprise and thought it would be nice to reveal the surprise by playing a few tunes of the show. Problem is that I don’t really know the music of the show (exept parts of the theme). One I remember from a tv show and was called ? Night (does this make sense?) and another one I remember from hearing someone playing it: Stolen Kiss. I liked both.

Can anyone help me with these, or any other song from the show. It’s very short notice because it’s Tuesday Night and we’re going to see the show Thursday Night. But that’s my fault because I haven’t been in the mood to do fun things lately, but this is a surprise for my mother and it’s time for some distraction!

I’d appreciate it.

Bye all!
Ilana

The recurring theme in “Lord of the Dance” is a slightly modified version of “Simple Gifts,” a Shaker hymn written in the 1840s in the U.S. It is also known as “'Tis a Gift to be Simple” from the opening line, and should be an easy song to find online. If you work with the original, it’s long out of copyright.

I had posted a sound clip at one time… let me see if it’s still around.

POST EDIT: Yep, here it is.

Is this the song your thinking of?

Thanks Guys! As I’ve said, I don’t actually know any of the music used in the show, only bits and peaces I’ve heard a long time ago.
But I do recognise the second part of Simple Gifts.
Alright! Hopefully a few hours practising will do it justice. It’s really catchy so I’m sure my mother will recognise it when see hears it in the show.
(I’ve decided to just play it to her and tell her it’s the latest one I’ve learned. Then take her to the show and see if she’ll raise her eyebrows when she hears it.
And she better…!!!)

It’s used in the opening, isn’t it?

I transcribed lots of stuff from LOTD, but I don’t know what they’re called because it’s from the video and it’s not clear which is which. My little girl loves that jig (that turns into a reel) that the bad guys dance to. We call it “The Death Jig.” I don’t have it in ABC format (I used Noteworthy Composer), but I could convert it if you wanted.
