C chanter, and Bayley barrel drones.

The good news is that my full set of Galloway pipes is arriving a year earlier than anticipated. The bad news is that to keep the family peace, I need to reduce my collection.

Narrow bore D by Rogge: Sold

C chanter by Chris Bayley in ebony, 5 nickel-silver (I think) keys and ferrules, and mounts made from a natural animal product. Sweet tone, and comes with 2 reeds, one by Bayley, and the other by Mike Hulme. $1200 OBO

Barrel drones (bass, baritone, tenor and quint) in ebony, brass ferrules, natural animal product rings and layettes, stock of a lighter, redder wood tied into a bag, with a bellows of unknown origin. The drones have flexible tuning. The drones come with two sets of reeds, so that one can have one set for C with a quint at G, and the other set for D with a quint at A, so that one can swap the reeds. The drones were made to match Bayley C chanter, but are too quiet for a concert chanter. $1500 OBO

If you want to make a half set, the price is $2500 OBO.

Bump

Now offering the Bayley C chanter, bag with barrel drones (bass, baritone, tenor on C, quint on G), and bellows at $2000 to encourage sale. If you want the drones alone, now $1300, and chanter would be $900.

Hugh

Bayley C chanter now old. Drones $1300, and if anyone wants the bellows, I’ll sell it for the cost of shipping.

Hugh

We know the second hand is slow and instruments take a long time to sell , but the age doesn’t matter.

RORY

But the newer ones come with built-in WiFi and MIDI.

Sorry Rory, I should have said that I am old, and the chanter is sold.

Hugh.
