A few years back, I had the privalege of hearing Brian O’Connor and seeing an Irish Ballet that he wrote, if you can believe that!. Julie and I went with some good friends and we had a great time. One of the tracks from one of his CD’s just came up and reminded me of how agile he is on a whistle. If you’re interested check it out. He does some amazing octave pops.
Brian is an “animal” on the whistle and a great flute player, too. He currently lives in Germany. I saw him recently when he played with German-Irish band “Bachelor’s walk”. Me and my band opened the evening for them and Brian was sitting in the audience. Man, I was so embarrassed… I had the chance to do some small talk with him. He was so kind not to make any remarks about my whistle and flute playing…
Very cool Christian! Where (venue) were you guys playing? I haven’t been able to find a website for Bachelor’s Walk, though I understand that they’ve been around for a while. Do you know of one?

we played an “Irish Xmas Night” for the - now read this - “Country & Western Club Gerlingen” near Stuttgart. It was a really great night and Mick Davis from the Bachelors even complimented me for my “great sounding set of pipes” - hm, now is this a compliment or an embarrasment???
