Bellows

I have two new sets of bellows for sale. $225 each. One is birdseye maple with zebrawood inlet and outlet The other is cherry with ebony inlet and outlet. I make the air outlet from hard wood in lieu of brass. If anyone does want either of these, I will turn the appropriate fitting to hook up to your bag.

They are pinned bellows, but I use a leather flap around the edge, so all you see is leather.

I will have them at the East Coast Tionol if anyone there would like to try them out. If you are interested send a private message. Here are a few pics.

Jim, that’s a very distinctive inlet you’ve got. Do you craft that from bent wire or cast it or what?

B~

Actually, they are broaches. I grind the pins off the back and epoxy them into the inlet valve.. I picked these two up in Ireland last Spring. I have a ceramic and a artificial ivory broach I’m waiting to use.

So am I seeing correctly in the photos that there appears to be an opening under the metal tracings themselves or is it still a solid piece and the air inlets are drilled into the sides??

Jim, these are handsome bellows. $225 a piece? A mighty fair price if you ask me.

As the bishop said to the actress :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp:

There are inlet holes on the side as well as main one.
…Peter, what did the bishop say next?

…better put one of these on yerself…just in Casey,

 Bet she never looked at another bellows the same after THAT!

At least we haven’t sunk to any purile “pumping” jokes - oops!

The images are locked. Were they taken down on peurpose?

The birdseye maple set is sold. The cherry is still available.

…how many pumps did it take to fill up the old bag??

about 2 and a half

Well, I’ve been playing the birdseye maple bellows featured at the top of the post for about a week. I am extremely happy with the workmanship, aesthetics, performance and price of these bellows. The construction is very solid, the materials used are very appealing to the eye and very lightweight. The price is outstanding. My main point here is, if you are ever thinking of purchasing a bellows from him, dive in. You’ll be quite pleased. Thanks Jim.
