I am quite a happy piper. I got my chanter back from Bruce with two shiny new keys (the last two).
In 1998 or 99, while i still had my other chanter, I asked him to make a reed to keep as a spare. He made one blind and sent it. It didn’t work in that chanter, but I held onto it.
In 2001 I had him make a two keyed chanter. When I got it I discovered that the “blind” reed worked as well as the new one.
When I sent him the chanter for the keywork last week, I mentioned that both reeds continue to work well (at least here in NJ, one wasn’t very happy in upstate NY) and he said to send both reeds as well. I did, and he gave them both an overhaul without charge.
