BBC: The Flute in Irish Traditional Music

Hi all:

This is available for downloading from alt.binaries.sounds.mp3.celtic. Haven’t heard it yet–just downloading now myself.

Tim

I got to the site, but I could not download the files as anything I could recognize, even though it says they are mp3’s. How did you manage to get them downloaded and playing? Any help appreciated.

Ron

Hi Ron:

You need to download the individual files and save them to your hard disk. Then use Winrar (which you can get free from download.com) to join the parts into a playable mp3.

Good luck!

Tim

Thanks! Duh, I was trying to open them online to listen to them. I know I am fully awake after I make the first bonehead mistake of the day. Just got a 3-piece Dixon this week. It plays better, with a stronger tone, and more in tune than a couple of “better” flutes I have. I am going to get my Seery any day now. That ought to make a nice pair to draw to.
