I recently downloaded the 3 books from Comhaltas (http://comhaltas.ie/shop). There is a VERY low rate of “I don’t like this tune” (at least for me). I highly recommend them. There’s a lot of other good stuff on their site as well. I know most of you already know about the site, but for those of you that don’t - go check it out!
It’s even better when you buy the cd’s that come with them. While not the best of quality, they go a long way in helping me to figure out the tunes, and get an idea of what they should sound like. A real help for a rank amateur.
Actually, I just downloaded the first and third book tracks from their website. They have them on there for free. There were 116 in the first book (2 CDs worth), so it took awhile, but it’s worth it! You have to download them individually and there are a few that have “problems”. I probably got about 113 of them.
The third book’s downloads aren’t complete yet, but there are quite a few (about 20-ish) available now…
I just bought the cd’s from the first two, just because it was too much of a pain to download them all from the site. Some of the tunes have technical problems on the cd’s. I went back and downloaded them from the website, and, dang, they had the same problems.
