i just got “the complete irish whistle tunebook”
by l.e mcullough and am really impressed with it especially the cd’s that came with it so far all of the tunes are played on whistle [hearing the tune on a different instrument doesnt help me that much] and it plays each tune twice ,once slowly and once at full speed with ornamentation ive only got 5 songs into it[im trying to savor it] and ive already choosen 2 i want to learn. im working on"drumshambo jig" right now its sounds great and seem like it will be fairly easy to learn anyway my 2 cents worth i highly recomend this book

All tunes are played on the whistle the whole way through. It’s a good book. Sometimes I put the CD on in the car to just listen.
I’ve got it too, and it’s great.
Only one complaint:
I ripped all the tracks to my laptop, so I can multi-task and listen through phones at work. The first few tracks burned with all pertinent data (e.g. name of the tune) attached to the mp3 file. The rest just came through with ‘track 5’, ‘track 6’, ‘track 7’, etc… So, I’m now in the process of identifying them and renaming the mp3 files, so I’ll know what I’m listening to!
Small complaint, though. L.E. did a great job with the recordings and transcriptions. Bear in mind, there’s very little tutorial stuff here…just a lot of great (and popular) tunes.
Howdy,
But of course, L.E. has the matching tutorial to go with the tune collection, so all’s well.
I have both, and they are excellent.
Best,
Dave
