No, this isn’t a new festival at all. They’ve been doing an Irish festival in Baltimore in September for at least 15 years. Looks like a new venue for them, though. The times I’ve been to this festival in the past it was always held in an armory or other large indoor space. Two stages plus vendors all in one big room was basically cacaphony - not what you really want in a festival. So the new outdoor venue could be a real boon for them, if they can avoid the curse of area outdoor Irish festivals: rain. Anyone who ever went to the late lamented Washington Irish Festival at Wolf Trap or the Montgomery County Fairgrounds will know what I’m talking about!
Unfortunately I’ll have to miss this one, as I’ll be out of town that weekend. Hope the sun shines on them…
