The Northeast’s premier traditional Irish music festival featuring world-class fiddler Seamus Connolly!
Seamus will be joined at the 14th annual music festival by more than 40 professional Catskill Irish Arts Week musicians from all over the United States, Canada and Ireland. Musicians include Mary Bergin, the most celebrated tin whistle player in the world; singer Robbie O’Connell of the Clancy Brothers band; exceptional set dancer Patrick O’Dea; and internationally known piper, Brian MacNamara.
The show opens at noon and continues until 8 p.m. Festival vendors will offer for sale Celtic crafts, authentic Irish dishes along with American food and drink.

Wow. That was a nice week. I just returned home today. I had classes with Brian McNamara and a bit with Jerry O’Sullivan. Lovely time and I really enjoyed the music. The food, of course, leaves much to be desired as do the showers, accomodations, and cell phone reception. But the human company was lovely! Highlights of my week, in short were: Brian’s classes, meeting and visiting with his father, Mick McNamara, as well as with Dermot McLaughlin. Mary Bergin is a fine woman and enjoyed chatting with her as well as Paul de Grae and his wife. I’m tired, and cannot think of all the wonderful things, but it was brilliant.
Yes, there’s always next year… Too bad it’s so far away… I, too, had a lovely time - no, it was more than lovely, it was mind-altering! Azalin will attest to this - I was not my usual self in East Durham, but the real me finally came out
This was my first full-fledged festival (I was at the Chris Langan weekend in Toronto in January, but it wasn’t the same) and I can’t believe I never did this before… What the hell have I been waiting for?!! Amazing music, lots of new tunes for me, a chance to play with some talented musicians and meet a bunch of people from all over the place, interesting people, and funny people.
