Here we go for Year No. 3! Although still on the smallish side (I prefer the term “intimate”) this is becoming a wee Woodstock of Pure Drop (with Seven Nations and the Mickey Finns thrown in for a little leavening). Tim Benson and the Red Wellies are on board in addition to Brían Ó hAirt, a clutch of the usual brilliant Baltimore suspects, and who knows who-all else – more musicians and other stuff being added weekly. The sessions go on all day; this is truly a players’ festival. If you fancy the chance to sit on a haybale next to someone like Turlach Boylan in a session (making sure you mind your manners, of course) this is your weekend.
Yep, camping’s cool, and the past three years have been a flute-player’s dream come true.
Hey Cat, I can’t make it, so I’m gonna send my flute-hope it has fun, and learns some new tunes-would you please show it a good time and keep an eye out-don’t want it getting any ideas of not coming back home now-you know, the first pretty smile far from home that wants to put her lips…um, you know…those Wilde Kentucky gals and all!
! How ya gonna keep em down on the farm? I’ll have to make sure mine doesn’t head back East with yours. If yours shows up at your door with a blonde in a couple of weeks, send her home; her mama will be missing her!
I mapquested Eminence KY and learned – to my surprise – that it’s located nearly directly WEST of Baltimore! Golly Miss Molly… I must have been missing for American geography in high school.
