I’m signed up to take whistle lessons through the Boston Celtic Music School (Comhaltas) starting this saturday. I am so excited- I have never taken whistle lessons before (Although I have taken like 8 years of classical flute lessons) and I am so excited! Anyway I was just wondering if anyone else on this board will be also taking the Comhaltas lessons in Boston this fall…

It’s good to hear from you again. I am no longer in Boston, but there are several very fine whistle players in Boston, and several fine teachers as well. Your absolute top pick for a whistle teacher should be Kathleen Coneely. Second choice should be Shannon Heaton. They are both mindblowingly good. Shannon can also help you transition the the wooden flute, should you like to do so.

hello! Where have you moved too? I am in the advanced beginner class with Shannon Heaton (they put me there because of all my years of classical flute playing experience even though I have like no whistle experience) Sounds like she is a cool teacher. I am stoked.
