I am curently looking for a new tin whistle teacher in the Ny, NJ Area. Would anyone be able to recomend some?
I am looking for a teacher who is under Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann because I would like to be able to play in the Fleadh in Manhattan College and in Ireland… I am currently with a teacher and have atended both of these , I have been playing for 1 1/2 years but am advanced. I qualified to go to ireland last year at the fleadh.
Is there a site that lists all the T.W teachers? or can anyone give suggestions , where they are located and possible an e-mail or phone # to contact them ?
Just wondering, if your current teacher got you to competition level in under two years, why do you want to change? I don’t know of any sanctioned teachers, but would be interested in hearing about your current one!
Have you tried contacting the Ceoltas organization and asking them for a list?
Depending on where you live, www.raffertymusic.com will get you to Mike Rafferty who’s in Bergen County (his branch of Comhaltas is named after him) and Siobhan Kelly in Boonton, N.J. is teaching again. If you need contact info, drop me a line.
If you are playing at that level and you need to work on timing and tempo I think you will need either Bill Ochs or Jerry O’Sullivan.
You can contact Jerry at. http://www.uilleann.com/jerry/
Does anyone have any recomendation or know of Margie Mulvilhill ? I heard from a friend that she was a great whistle player but does anyone know if she teaches? or if shes under cce? or where shes located?
